This tutorial shows how can you retopology fast a 3d scan data. WrapX is a perfect tool. I used my textured base head to transfer and wrap his geometry to scan head data. In WrapX as well I can transfer the textures of scan data. I worked a lot on my base head to find the best and perfect edge flow, and it has evolved over the years. So this way I keep this clean edge flow that is good for facial animation and moreover I can keep also the UV map and texture of my base head. It means I will get immediately a good base texture for my new head. Of course when retopology is done – however, the result is quite good – it needs some manual sculpting and some fine touch.

This is my base head with a clean edge flow that suits for facial animation, of course, it contains only quads.
